Knowing the risks
As with every surgical procedure, heart valve surgery can involve risks, such as:
-Severe bleeding
-Infection
-Lung and kidney complications
-Abnormal reaction to the anaesthetics
-Arrhythmia
-Strokes, Heart attacks or death
If you experience some complications, you could need a prolonged hospitalisation in an intensive care unit or additional surgery.
